MDS UK

Cambridge – Informal Coffee Morning – 30 April 2012

  • Apr 30

    Starts: 30 April, 2012 @ 10:30 am

After a very successful 1st meeting, 9 Cambridge patients and family members volunteered to create the Anglia Local MDS Patient Support branch.

The aim of all local branches of the MDS UK Patient Support Group  is to provide a regular opportunity for patients to get together to talk about MDS issues they face and – and possibly offer extra support to newly diagnosed MDS patients.

Perhaps also organise activities together, fundraising events or raise awareness of MDS locally.

The first meeting open to all MDS patients, friends and family in Anglia will take place:

Date: Monday 30th Apr 2012

Time: 10.30am

Location:  Cambridge Cancer Help Centre,  David Raynor Building, Scotsdales Garden Centre,  Cambridge Road,  Great Shelford,  CB22 5JT.

Note from the local organising team:

We intend to organise this informal get-together/coffee morning for people to meet and talk with others in similar circumstances. We hope this will prove beneficial for those, like me, who had never even heard of MDS before diagnosis. I found out about MDS as a result of a blood test ordered by my GP for completely different circumstances. Were it not for this blood test I would still be blissfully unaware of MDS. For those brave enough an (easy) quiz will be organised; participation is not compulsory. The gathering will start at about 10.30am and finish when it does. Rules – there aren’t any.  Please do come along and help make the event a success.

If possible, to give us an idea of numbers attending this informal coffee morning, please contact our main office on 0207 733 7558

I hope many of you will take the opportunity to take part in these regular coffee mornings.
